InBox | 04/12/11The Find coming to Grand Ave.
Make room in your heart for another vintage shop in the Grand Avenue Design District. On June 1, The Find will open at 1819 Grand Ave. This vintage co-op is expanding from an existing location in Highwood, and co-owner Mindy Baschnagel says we can expect the very same look in the new 2,700-square-foot store. A varied “menagerie” of antiques culled by a team of four buyers (one is a certified antique appraiser, another is a seasoned antique business owner and all four have years of fleaing experience) features natural items, such as turtle shells, taxidermy, fossils, and coral pieces, as well as funky vintage accessories, like crystal skulls, painted nudes, and candlesticks made from branding irons. “We sell to people in their 20s and people in their 90s,” Baschnagel says. You’ll also find ever-popular mid-century credenzas and Lucite benches at The Find.
