You may or may not agree with the old adage that the best things in life are free. But here’s one freebie that might tip the scales. The Rebuilding Exchange is offering free classes starting in January and continuing throughout the spring. Topics include Intro to Sewing, Electricity Demystified, and Making Musical Instruments out of Scrap. (OK, I can see how that last one might be free.) Check out the offerings here; there are also some fun courses that have fees. And, if you haven’t been to this mecca of construction site castoffs and you like to search for diamonds in the rough, check it out (you might find something like the vintage phone booth pictured above‑wouldn’t it be great to just get in there and have a really long convo on your cell?). There’s even a pile of free stuff near the entrance!
