Feb 4, 2010Win a Free Wedding!
Crate & Barrel and Daily Candy are teaming up on a contest that we think Design Dose readers ought to know about. If you’re engaged to be married and registered at Crate & Barrel, you can enter for a chance to win a wedding masterminded by celebrity wedding planner Jo Gartin, valued at $100,000 (see a photo from a wedding she planned above, from her website). All you have to do is submit 300 words about “your love story” (actually there are more specific directions than this; click here for details). The contest runs until March 31. —GINA BAZER Photo courtesy loveluckandangels.com Posted at 12:03 PM in InBox | Back to all posts |

Mark and I were two very social people who loved going out having a good time. Independently we both joined an adult kickball league to expand our network of friendships. He was on an opposing team and I was the referee for his game. Mark was the base coach and offered me a beer while I reffed the game. I was so distracted having a conversation with him that when the ump called for what my call at home plate was, I didn't see it! With out thinking I called the guy out and sent his team into an uproar! Fortunately he didn't hold it against me and we joked and talked after the game. He got my name and number and called me later that week. Well when he called he must have misheard my name at the bar and asked for Angie (my name is Amanda). Needless to say, I hung up the phone on him, oops! That next week he approaches me at the bar and goes "I guess your name isn't Angie." We had another good laugh and continued to talk on the phone almost daily. A week or so later we went on our first date. We laughed and enjoyed ourselves and got caught up in our own conversations. We shared so much in common. At the end of the night the couple next to us approached us and inquired if it was our first date. We replied and they told us we were meant to be. Two and half years later he asked me to marry him on Christmas Eve. And perfectly fitting to our humor in our relationship, he was stealth and stole a ring from my jewelry box to get it sized perfect to my finger. Unfortunately he didn't know it was a pinky ring! So for a few days I had the most beautiful pinky ring!
Hi! Great story, but please go to the following website for details on how to enter it with Crate & Barrel (we are not sponsoring the contest, just letting readers know about it)!
Thanks for reading Design Dose. Good luck with the contest!!
