The Ellipse lounge chair, $2,475, and ottoman, $675, left. Ellipse dining arm chair, $1,050, and side chair, $850, right. On February 2, 1972, Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers began as a small workshop building custom 19th Century, Shaker-style furniture. But in the four decades since its inception, the shop has created a design aesthetic of movement and fluidity in wood furniture. For its anniversary, Moser is simultaneously launching a new collection, Ellipse Living, and offering limited editions of vintage Moser designs from the archives. The Ellipse collection—which includes sofas, tables, chairs, and ottomans—features mid-century–inspired design and airy, organic silhouettes. The vintage pieces, such as the Shaker Peg Mirror and Grange Hall Table, are signed by Tom Moser and accompanied by his book, Artistry in Wood. P.S. Feeling furniture-adventurous? Moser offers a Customer in Residence program where you can build your own piece of heirloom furniture under the tutelage of a pro in the Maine workshop. $3,500 for individuals, $4,500 for couples. —Sarah V.
