Guerrilla Truck Show

For the seventh year, Morlen Sinoway, patron saint of emerging artists and designers, staged his Guerrilla Furniture and Art Truck show, a wildly fun street party featuring some 40 trucks that pull up to the loading docks near his showroom in Fulton Market. This year the offerings in the trucks were as varied and creative as ever, and for the first time, Sinoway asked a panel of judges (including me) to choose three choices for Best in Show. The winners: Craighton Berman, whose lamp is shown here (it’s also been featured in our magazine), Half13 outdoor furniture (also shown here), and Phlux Creative in collaboration with Bleeding Heart Bakery, whose truck served cupcakes in a test tube with a shot of coffee (for those who like their art and design on the conceptual side). I also liked these two Chicagoans’ work: Greta De Parry’s furniture and the eco wallcoverings of Aronel.

Glad to see Greta deParry's work is getting noticed! Her stuff is remarkable!
