City Style House Tour

One of my favorite house tours in the city happens May 15. What’s great about The City Style House Tour (which benefits the Chicago City Day School) is that it’s a walking tour in the loveliest neighborhood of Chicago, the Gold Coast. Your ticket (purchase via website or by calling 312-327-0900) of $140 ($155 day of) entitles you to a catered reception at The Junior League of Chicago on North Astor, a tour of six amazing Gold Coast homes (including the residence, shown above, of designer Susan Fredman), and appetizers at each home. You’ll also see a restaurateur’s two-story duplex featuring a spiral staircase with clear Plexiglas treads, and a house built in 1890 by Potter Palmer for his daughter. Over the years, we’ve published several homes that have been featured on this annual tour; hoping to find another one or two this year! This is a great idea for a gift for Mother’s Day; I bought a ticket for my mom. Hope to see you there.
