Scoop | 10/16/12Pretty in Pink: Missie Bender Supports Cancer Awareness Through Design
By now, the pink ribbon and breast cancer awareness are almost as synonymous with October as pumpkins. And for Missie Bender, owner of one Vignette Home, breast cancer awareness is a cause close to her heart: Her closest girlfriend is a breast cancer survivor. This month at her store, she is featuring a selection of pink home décor items and accessories, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. There are vases, artwork, candles, and fun accents, including these lovely pink lady lamps ($525 for the pair). Vignette Home is at 346 Park Avenue in Glencoe. —ALICE OGLETHORPE Posted at 4:19 PM in Scoop | Back to all posts |
