One of my most prized possessions is an antique wooden filing cabinet that belonged to my great grandfather. He used it to keep patients’ records (he was a doctor here in Chicago); I use it to store purses. But I digress. The cabinet is big—five feet tall—and absolutely gorgeous. Friends are always asking where I got it and how they can get one, too. I finally have an answer to the second question: Head to Broadway Antique Market. They just received a stock and have four left—prices are in the $300 to $400 range. And you don’t need to tell anybody that you use it as a place to keep your shoes or handbags. —ALICE OGLETHORPE Posted at 11:11 AM in Spotted | Back to all posts |
