Marvin Herman established his practice in 1984 and since then has worked on many condos and mansions along Lake Shore Drive, as well as on single-family homes in the suburbs. His work ranges from traditional to contemporary, but he says his forte is period design, including Art Deco. The firm specializes in maxi­­mizing space, particularly in landmark buildings, and has renovated six of the seven penthouse floors in the Park Hyatt. In addition to its local projects, the firm has worked on a Rancho Santa Fe residence in California, a Park Avenue penthouse in Manhattan, and a residential complex in L.A.’s Century City. Herman’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest.
