You’ve seen the Chicago skyline a million times, but you haven’t seen it the way Chicago artist Karen Young does. Her simplistic, colorful renderings are reminiscent of retro travel posters and make our city look positively charming.

And it isn’t just Chicago that gets Young’s classically trained touch. She has also made her fun skyline prints for cities all over the world. For each one, Young researches urban photography and uses her imagination to come up with the final image.

Not in a city frame of mind? Young also designs 300 different greeting cards and prints, with such images as owls and flowers. Young sells her collection through her website, loosepetals.com.
