While leafing through the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living, I saw a story about a Chicago-based artist who makes beautiful quilts. Her name is Sarah Nishiura and her mother taught her how to quilt when she was 10 years old.

Chicago artist and designer Kat Silverstein decided to make gifts for her family out of some of her paintings and illustrations. After enough people told her they wanted to buy the gifts she was making, Silverstein started up an Etsy store called 7 Doors Studio.
