Couef Is a Lovely Furniture Line and an Ambitious Acronym

The interior designers at Jamie Schachtel Interiors just launched a charming and practical line of ottomans and benches.

When Jamie Schachtel and Danielle Yucht, the duo behind the Highland Park interior design firm Jamie Schachtel Interiors, couldn’t find the a certain type of practical and attractive furniture to finish their clients’ homes, they took matters into their own hands.

The result: the fun furniture line Couef (an acronym for Chair Ottoman Upholstered End table Furniture, but we bet they just liked the sound of the word, pronounced “coof”).

Not only is the collection gorgeously made (all solid wood, custom upholstered, and made in North Carolina), but each piece is designed to be super-functional (think ottomans, benches, and stools with hidden pull-out trays and storage inside). Pretty inventive.

Available at Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings in the Merchandise Mart.
