Mar 18, 2013River North Will Get Its Own Community Home SupplyBy Alice Oglethorpe
Kitchen and bath remodelers have been flocking to Community Home Supply at 3924 N. Lincoln Ave. for years (70, to be exact). Well now they don’t have to go quite so far north, thanks to the opening of a new showroom at 220 W. Kinzie in River North. Called Community II, it’s right across the street from the Merchandise Mart, in the same building that houses the Brendan Sodikoff hotspot Bavette’s. The story begins about a year ago, when Community Home Supply took over the third floor of the then-two-level Chicago Brass’s Kinzie showroom (now Chicago Brass occupies only the fourth floor in this building). Since then, Community Home’s owners have been working hard updating the interior, installing new displays, and forming partnerships with vendors, including the high-end granite and stone countertop purveyor Cambria, which will have its biggest Chicago presence at this location; Franz Viegener faucets are also exclusives here. And while we’re talking about Community Home Supply, mark your calendars for Thursday, April 4. The company is celebrating 75 years in business with a party at the original location (3924 N. Lincoln Ave.). There will be cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and raffle prizes. RSVP to Ralph Richardson at rrichardson@comhs.com. Posted March 18, 2013, | Back to all posts |
