PlyTextiles Finally Gives the World a Modern Doily

Crate & Barrel visual merchandiser by day and felter by night, PlyTextiles founder Lindy Cline has been making felt “modern doilies” (the one shown here is $140), pillows ($140–$200), and coasters ($40 each) since 2007. “Etsy was getting popular right when I started, and orders came fast,” says the Chicago-based Cline, who uses wool sweaters from thrift shops as her raw material.

Available at etsy.com/people/plytextiles and Lillstreet Art Center, 4401 N. Ravenswood Ave.
