Nov 29, 2012Holiday Shop ’Til You Drop in AndersonvilleBy Alice Oglethorpe
Anybody can buy a gift on Amazon. We say support local shops and designers by purchasing presents right here in Chicago. Tomorrow night is a great chance to do that and save money because it’s Late Night Andersonville. The festivities run from 6 to 10 p.m. and center around Berwyn and Clark. Forty stores and restaurants stay open late and offer savings on meals and gifts. This includes some of Andersonville’s top home décor shops: Scout, Foursided, GreenSky, Marguerite Gardens, Painted Light Photography + Framing Gallery, and The Wooden Spoon. There’s also live music and caroling—it’s enough to warm the Grinchiest heart. After you’ve crossed some names off your list, tote your buys to the Green Gift Wrapping Bash at George’s Ice Cream & Sweets (5306 N. Clark) for a free wrapping job using old blueprints, movie posters, and other colorful items that would otherwise have been tossed in the trash. If you can’t make it tomorrow, head to Andersonville on Friday, December 14th for Late-er Night Andersonville. Posted Nov. 29, 2012, | Back to all posts |
