Mid-century modern fans, take note: there’s a new showroom in town. Building on the success of pegboardchicago.com, launched in 2001, David and Amy Carter have unveiled a 1,500-square-foot, by-appointment-only showroom in west Bridgeport. “We’re really operating under the radar,” says Amy. The showroom, located on the ground floor of a nondescript brick walkup, has no sign. It houses furniture dating from the 1940s to the 1970s, including an Eames LCW chair with red hairy-hide upholstery ($900), an iconic Arco floor lamp designed by Achille Castiglioni ($1,700), and a 12-foot-long Harvey Probber curved sofa ($3,800). Decorative accessories, such as Russel Wright dinnerware and Italian glass vases ($20 to $300), round out the selection. 773-376-0344; pegboardchicago.com
