Meet Richter Design Group

Richter Design Group, the kitchen & bath/cabinetry division of Richter Builders in Libertyville, IL, grew out of a need. “My Dad started building houses 30 plus years ago,” explains Scott Richter, one of the company principals. “Back in the day, he was going other places for the cabinetry in the homes we built. We realized we could offer more in the way of quality and pricing, by offering the cabinetry here. The word got out that we were also remodeling kitchens, bathrooms and other rooms of the home - in addition to building homes, and well, our business just grew.”

Both Scott and his Dad, Pat Richter, attribute a lot of their success to the fact that they live in the area where they’re building and remodeling homes. “We’re a small shop,” Scott notes. “I grew up in the area, went to high school in Libertyville, college in Bloomington, and my Dad is a Chicago boy. We do work for our neighbors and their friends and relatives. We’ve done business in Libertyville, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Highland Park, Glencoe and so on. If you give us your address, we can probably tell you someone who lives near you. With all of those factors, the difference is going to be the service you get. We see our clients at community events, at the bank and in the grocery store. You can bet on it that we’re going to do a good job for you, do it right and at a fair price.”

Remodeling a kitchen or a bathroom, designing cabinetry for a laundry room or even a custom bookshelf, no doubt takes a talented design person with vision. “It also is important to work with a product as quality as the design and the home you’re building,” explains Scott. “Quite honestly, that’s why we use Wood-Mode (custom) & Brookhaven (semi-custom) cabinetry. When you’ve been in business as long as we have, you realize the impact of such a quality product. As someone who holds a computer science degree, I appreciate how current they are with technology. It’s amazing how they combine an artisan’s hand-rubbed finish and technology.”
